We have scheduled a few dates in the new year to help to get out and have some fun and play this popular sport. In cooperation with the North Shore Pickleball Club you will learn the basic strokes, rules and how to play a game with your physician colleagues! All equipment will be provided, however please bring your own gym shoes.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner to the sport, we will have courts available to come and have fun to challenge your colleagues and friends.
Drop-ins are also welcome!

This interactive presentation explores how important parts of our medical culture have eroded physician well being and fulfillment. Dr. Horton will discuss how we can positively contribute towards rebuilding a sense of fulfilment in our profession by tending to our relationships with self, others and our shared medical culture.
Dr. Jillian Horton is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the Health Sciences Centre and the University of Manitoba. She directs the Alan Klass Health Humanities Program, is an Associate Chair in the Department of Medicine, and is a former Associate Dean of Undergraduate Student Affairs.
Dr. Horton has competed a longitudinal internship teaching Mindful Practice (at the University of Rochester) and Chief Wellness Officer training at Stanford University. Her writing about medicine and medical culture appears regularly in the LA Times, the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, Maclean's, and a variety of American news outlets by syndication. She is also a contributor to CBC "Ideas."
She is a sought-after speaker and thought leader on the subject of physician health, both nationally and internationally. Her award-winning first full-length book, We Are All Perfectly Fine: A Memoir of Love, Medicine and Healing was released by HarperCollins Canada in February 2021 to critical acclaim, and is a national bestseller. It is currently being adapted for television by a major network. She was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Wilfred Laurier University for her work translating the experience of healthcare workers for the public.
