PHP's BIPOC Peer Support Group - BIPOC Physician as Leader: Challenges & Opportunities

BC Physicians who are Black, Indigenous,and People of Colour form a diverse population with shared and variableexperiences, strengths, challenges, traumas, and communities. There is growingawareness of how racial inequities affect BIPOC physicians in both subtle andovert ways.
The BIPOC Physician Peer Support Group intendsto provide a confidential forum where participants and facilitators support andempower each other through collectively investigating lived experiences. Thegroup aims to harness the power of safety in community to metabolize burdensand leverage any assets from our cultures of origin. In this way, we hope tocontribute to a more inclusive, integrative, humanistic, and justhealth-care system.
The groupmeets monthly on Mondays from 7:15 to 8:30 PM. The following dates anddiscussion topics are scheduled:
· October 16 –BIPOC Physician as Leader: Challenges & Opportunities
· November 13 –Exploring Our Relative Power & Privilege
· December 11 –Our Community of Practice: Reflections and Feeding it Forward
The BIPOC PeerSupport Group is facilitated virtually via Zoom. Please register in advance to jointhe group.
